Do I NEED the JSON file? It is my understanding that since the printed paper wallet has the private key, and I remember my password.. then I would not Need the JSON file. 
Private key is enough to access your wallet in myetherwallet or you can simply import all your ETH from that address to exodus wallet using move funds option they have.JSON file is encrypted wallet file while private key is plain non encrypted so you don't need password to access your wallet if you have private key.
