Hi,
I have a few questions that I hope you will answer.
1. What is the difference between Ethereum-Wallet-installer-0-9-3.exe and Mist-installer-0-9-3.exe wallets?
2. Who do you recommend installing?
3. How can I make sure that the 260GB database /blockchain/ is not uploaded to the main disk C, but to another disk?
4. Can not the database /blockchain/ be uploaded to any disk at all, but use remote nodes like Monero?
Thanks!
Hi DStefanov!
Your interesting question got lost into all the ATH celebrations

1. EthereumWallet is just a Wallet when Mist is a dApp explorer including a wallet among with the possibility to browse most of the dApp out there.
2. It depends on what you're planning to do. If you just need a wallet, EthereumWallet is good enough but I can only advise you to try browsing some dApps (verifying that they are legit first) to get an idea of the power the ETH network has (and will have). Mist can be quite buggy sometimes so you can also use Metamask which is a Chrome plugin allowing you to browse some dApps right with Chrome. Or you can use Brave which is an open-source web browser with native integration of Metamask.
3. During the installation, you will have to chose where to store the chaindata folder. Consider using an SSD rather than an HDD and please note that the chaindata folder will rather be
around 35 GB with a fresh sync. Remember to erase the chaindata folder (SAVE THE KEYSTORE FOLDER BEFORE DOING THAT!!) from time to time in order to resync in --fast mode (and save some space).
4. You can use an online wallet provider, but then you will have to rely on a third party node (like with the remote nodes in Monero). You can try
Parity or
MyEtherWallet for example (but beware of the phishing sites when Googling it).
