Not only your tactics but all of traders that do usually make trading on erc20 tokens which this delay would really be a big blockage or hassle on making transactions.If you can afford to pay up huge amount of gas then it should be fine but if not then you would really need to wait up for it to confirm but we do know there are really times on trading on which we do really need fast confirmations because we do need to timing everything on our orders. That cryptokitten do really mess up ETH network.
