You're entitled to your opinion but the way I see it the code is less broken than it has ever been (many important bugs have been fixed, and nodes are very reliable, despite some annoying noise messages).
As someone who played with Monero back in the early days, I was honestly shocked at how easy Aeon was to setup and use on a range of operating systems. Having very little knowledge of Mac OS I was still able to get a node up and running with very few steps, and setting up a Windows instance is absurdly simple, literally a few button clicks.
I think if Aeon wants to find new ways to differentiate itself from Monero, a "really really ridiculously easy" design philosophy seems to be something that a.) traditionally is met with great love by the market and b.) can help advance the art is unexpected ways and c.) already seems to be a direction this project is taking.
I just wanna thank everyone who has worked on the Aeon code these past couple of years streamlining and improving it. 💜 It's work beyond recompense, when one considers the awesome scope of Cryptonote and how crucial it will become as the years go on. I think once rebase is launched and the dev floodgates are opened, we are going to see Aeon evolve quickly in some really neat ways, perhaps even diverging from Monero at times.
Also, yes, this account is back under my control, and thanks for the community banding together to deincentivize the theft of highly recognized accounts like this one. Also thanks to the anon who returned this to me - don't care if it was the person who cracked it, bought it, or a benevolent: it is very big of you to return such a valuable thing to the rightful hands. 💕
