If I were the developer of DOGECOIN, I would keep the coin alive.  I mean it has a good name and a good image for the coin, it can possibly attract the younger generation easily, the millenials.  Just think about it:  Dogecoin, a "cute" name, followed by a "cute" dog image, sure I could see millennials transacting with it, I would probably add new features to it (if its possible, because after all, its just a Scrypt LITECOIN fork, thats it), I would create a "dogecoin market place", a website where everything is sold, ala "walmart"/BJ's/Costco style and make DOGECOIN the only payment method there, and call if The Official Dogecoin website. 

See?  Lots of opportunity specially niche ones for use cases for dogecoins.  The dev killed it all by saying those works instead of being smart and coming up with something to make more money/revenue by innovating DOGECOIN.
