Pure, unsubstantiated, bullshit speculation on my part:

1.
 - Monero (i.e. FP) has already received the apple dev license
 - Has not made it public because that would intimate that light wallet release is imminent and Monero does not encourage pre-release speculation.
 - Wallets get released over Christmas/New Year, much in keeping with previous, surprise, releases around this time.

2. Ripple and Litecoin are getting added to Coinbase - hence the recent increase in price (from insider trading).
