I don't think this is the time to spend bitcoin right now. And it's not just because the price is increasing, although that is a good point for not spending your coins, but mainly because the transactions fees are a bit high right now. I think you should probably wait for these problems to be solved, and for the bitcoin network to mature a bit, so that that it is able to handle a much larger number of transactions per second.
You should really see bitcoin for it's potencial, and use it as an investment right now, because it simply isn't ready to be used right now. People keep spending money in ICOs, and some of the project don't even develop at all. I think it would be much safer to see bitcoin like that. You are buying, and investing in it, in order to use it later.
