Wasn't ebit the ASIC designer for Avalon before? I wonder if they collaborated on the designs of the new chip. Seems pretty strategic they're both announcing their new machines on the same day.
Ebit was the contract manufacturer of the Avalon 6, but Canaan designed their own chip.
Also, the Avalon 8 is not a new chip. It is just a rework of the Avalon 7 series. Ebang is claiming theirs is 10nm, Avalon 8 is still 16nm.
