Even with Eth having a higher% increase than btc in the last year I still do not believe that it is the best choice (it is going through a very turbulent transition phase, even with fewer transactions than btc the network was recently very congested and slow).

The best option I would choose would be btc, it is steadily rising and the chances of it falling its price is very small, recently it has been added to the American stock market and this will make its price explode now in that year of 2019, so for me it would be better than eth.
