NIST5 doesn't care about vram at all, you can (and should, if you want to cut down a little bit on power consumption and heat) lower the memclock down as much as you can (-502 MHz in MSI AB, -1000 in nvidia profile inspector). Might even get higher hashrates with lower memclocks if you're controlling the voltages and core clocks with the PL slider.
