Cardano (ADA) is a smart contract platform which could have a huge breakout year in 2018. It's backed by solid, peer-reviewed science and has an excellent team behind it (including one of the ETH co-founders)

Ethereum Blue (BLUE) is already up around 2000% in the last 4 weeks and currently sits at just 5300 sats even though hardly anyone is talking about it. Their stated aim is to bring better security to crypto. Quite a big aim but the team consists of people who worked on payment security for VISA and wish to apply the same to blockchain payments. They have just released the beta version of their first product, the BLUE chrome extension, which is a safer version of MetaMask and offers a wider array of features. They will also offer an SDK for other wallet developers which will be able to detect malicious smart contracts and suspicious wallet addresses before any payments are sent. Monero (XMR) - As the established leader of privacy tech with a huge supporting community, I think we will continue to see XMR hitting new highs and achieving wider adoption. This could well be amplified by the rise of decentralised marketplaces as well as an increase in demand for privacy coins.

Quantum Resistant Ledger (QRL) - Small coin which does what is says on the packet. If Quantum computing ever becomes a reality then the majority of Cryptos will die overnight. QRL aims to be the last coin standing in such a scenario and has some of the worlds foremost cryptography experts on board to make this happen. At the current price of 10k sats, you would be mad to ignore this coin.
