I know it's a stupid question, but I've never raised a masternode before.
Let's say that in the future I would like to use the 5,000 trc that I deposited for the masternode to work, I just delete the masternode from the vps and can I use those 5,000 trc again?

Yes, that goes for pretty much all masternode coins. You could just send out your rewards from operating the masternode, leaving the masternode to continue to work, or you could unlock the original 5k TRC and do whatever you want with them (e.g. sell them), but that would mean invalidating your masternode.
