We have the same situation! I also want to buy some ripple because it's price continue to increase while other coins are decreasing. But, I'm still doubting because I guess bitcoin price will soon recover and maybe it can affect the price of ripple sooner. So, I still end up not buying it.  
Still, no one would stop you from buying it, and it all depends to you. It's just, I don't wanna risk at this moment.
