Can someone explain this to me. How can the blockchain be ' high-performance' when it's written in Java ? Isn't that a contradiction ?
If someone told me it's written in C, i might believe them when they claim high performance. Or what is high-performance when not the code?
Someone care to elaborate ?
Blockchain measures performance by how many transactions can it process per block and less on how fast the language used to create it. Currently Semux can handle up to 5000tx per block every 30 seconds. Which is faster than most blockchain project that I know of. That's high performance.

So about 167 tx/s?  Shocked

Is there any project with a traditional blockchain that handles more transactions per second?

Ethereum was lower than 167. There is a number left in my mind which is 70 but not sure it is true or not. I tried to find the current number but couldn't find it.

Anyway it is great to handle 5000tx per block and will rise in time too.

Yeah, ~167 tps is the most per second I know of. As I recall Eth does about 15 and BTC about 7. I guess this is dependent on block size limits. Would be interesting to know how big dBFT blocks can get.
