It definitely isn't.

It's far cheaper to send $50,000 worth of gold almost anywhere in the world than it is to send $50,000 of Bitcoin at the moment.

Bitcoin Core Coin is a great investment for someone who is going to just let their coins sit on Coinbase and hopefully get super fiat rich tomorrow.  

Using Bitcoin Core Coin is next to absolutely fucking pointless at the moment and the developers seem to be OK with that.
