I dont know what happen with all funds. But one thing is for sure, that many people lost their litecoins, and pool owner, Balthazar don't want to help to recover these money. I dont even have money to pay electricity bills, because of his mistake with coding and ultimately lost all ( about 100) ltcs from my accound. We dont even have straight answer what will happen, if we have a chance too recover funds or not.
Hypernova is legit, ltcmine.ru with is owner not, so its not comparison. Because Hypernova is working and with full strenght and russian pool not. So once again. Check out hypernova.pw. My friend told me about this and i dont regreting mining with all my mashines on their pool.
I wont make another mistake to not withdrawn my ltcs, because there are automatic paymants, not like i was on ltcmine.ru. I lost my money partially because lack of simple thing, like automatic paymants.
You're comparing oranges to apples. No errors happen if you don't do anything. And effect of the error depends on pool size and coins price. I remember when pool.itzod.ru has lost a block (found and some software BS happened next) - Balthazar had purchased missing coins on the exchange. But that was 50 BTC, like $200 at the time - not really a big deal. Here is another situation - the damage is somewhat beyond what Balthazar can take out of his own pocket. I don't think that any pool will pay you anything at all if such shit happens to them. Unless they are insured from such BS.
Regarding total size of missing funds - seems it's just what miners were mining in a week or two - so it's not that much outstanding. You don't want to see delays when you press "withdraw funds" instead of withdrawal, don't you? this means large pool must have large hot wallet - and yes, the resonsibility is higher as well.
Auto payments? well - someone could set them to 100 ltc at a time as well - getting exactly into your situation...
