It should just compile on Linux out of the box -- there are a bunch of dependencies that have to be there depending on if you want UPNP enabled or not.
Do you have the Qt 'qmake' utility ?
I THINK we have a static linux binary (command line) I could post on the 2Give.Info if you want? Our global seed nodes are Linux so I know it works ;-)
TBH we are getting more requests for a Linux GUI version and it should be trivial to build -- we just haven't made it a priority. I'll check with the other devs and see if we can bump it up in the backlog...

Command line would fine LD. Just trying to help as much as I can. I have an old Dell poweredge 2600 may just put windows server on it so I don't have to build idk yet.
Are you asking to build the QT version or the command line version (or both?) :-)

Hey LD can you message me with instructions on how to build it on Linux. Have an old server PC laying around and I will use it to add more seed nodes for you just not very experienced with Linux. Use to the ./autogen ./configure make routine but that doesn't work.

As one who builds computers from scratch, if 2Give could get a simple .DEB build or built & make IT much easier to not have to build from source (trying to teach all to learn to build from source is not always an option)
Tried to build Linux way back in 2010, unable to because of the learning curve for the end users & now Linux Foundation be very simple for even the newbies world of educated users
