XRP is a utility coin- helps banks move transactions more efficiently. Has a large team of experience behind it, multiple partnerships with banks etc. Transactions take about 3secs for very low fee. Has recently pumped.

IOTA is a platform, commonly referred to as 3rd gen crypto using the tangle instead of blockchain addressing the internet of things (IoT). Has had significant issues with wallet implementation this year and their PR approach is...unique to say the least. Has pumped significantly last quarter of 2017.
