No i don't think betting is a good start for a newbie because it's really risky and your journey on making money could end early 
If you don't have money in the first place, I think its safe to say that you won't get bankrupt because you are starting broke, But if you have managed to earn bitcoin here and waste it in gambling, that's your choice. But I think its better to see the possibilities of trading and not looking forward to fast profit.
