I would like to give awesome miner a try....I have AMD and Nvidia GPUS....do i just set up 2 miners?

Yes. However, if you do profit switching, you should either disable Claymore Ethereum Miner or configure it to only run on either AMD or nVidia. This is the only mining software that runs both on AMD and nVidia at the same time. You can disable mining software from a profile via Options dialog, Profit profile section
