From what I understand you will have that opportunity by running a sidechain that gets paid in CBTs.

I Believe CBTs will be rewards for assisting the networlk in general. Securing sidechains, performing smart contracts etc.

Correct, CBTs will be rewards/fees for various services, managing the sidechains which includes global network availability, securing with specialized hardware, on top of these sidechains will provide services and smart contracts functionality that are payable in CBTs.

We will be focusing on sidechains for most of 2018, we are planning to have first network by end Q2, after that we will be working on adding the advanced services on top.
We are working on updating website and the information, we will release a new one in the upcoming weeks.
