We don't know the exact reasons why there were two consecutive, mostly identical posts by two (presumably) different people. In fact, there can be a lot of reasons beyond evil intent. For example, sometimes you submit the same post twice and have to delete one of them provided you ever notice duplicate posts. And yep, it looks pretty much like you are making mountains out of molehills in this case. It is a minor offense, so I have to stand by what I said earlier.
Considering the large amount of spam on the forum, spamming Newbies shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt. I think Mods now us a "if it quacks like a duck"-approach.
