Many people here say that BTC will be the leader for all time because it was first. Entire history of business and otherwise points to the contrary - after all, those that come into the market second have the ability to learn from the first and technologies to get old. Look at Google - not the first search engine. Apple & Samsung - not the first mobile phones. Skype - not the first messenger. Facebook - not the first social network. Etc. Etc.

BTC will probably lead in volume for another year or two though, but investors will have to strap in for its enormous volatility.
