Amd is a lot harder to setup then Nvidia , I wouldn't recommend Amd to any newbie because of the custom straps / Bios to gain extra performance.
While Nvidia is a lot easier , Just plug and play for good performance , Tweak the clocks and TDP for better performance and Efficency (Not that much difference in performance but lot less power consumption )
and Overclocking and changing TDP is just as easy as installing msi after burner and playing with the sliders .
I myself have had several problems with my Amd setups while my Nvidia 1080 ti rig is running rock solid
