Actually, that's a pretty standard trick: the scammer wants you to think his supply is very limited, and he might run out completely if you don't buy right away. It's a tactic meant to discourage you from "wasting time" looking for more reputable vendors or reading reviews etc.

Of course, it's always possible this guy is legit, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.
