In the UK all our goods, electronics through to cars are sold at a rediculous premium compared to the USA and other countries. Take for example a European, Mercedes C63 AMG - Yours in the US brand new for $59,000. Oh, but what do Mercedes decide to charge us in the UK? Oddly £58,000.

Sound fair? well if you have no concept of exchange rates it might, but if you do know the value of the pound then you will know that £58,000 is more like $90,000!

Its a similar story whatever product it is - the only exception being american made goods which are sold even cheaper in the US vs UK. I remember seeing an article about one of the new style american muscle cars that came out a few years ago (cant remember which one)- you could pick one up in the us on a basic spec for like $20,000 - When they cam to the UK they were more Like £40,000 to buy ($60,000).

There is the matter of sales tax in the US, which is added on top of listed prices - so the fair comparison would be with UK prices before adding VAT.

I'm not saying that we don't seem to pay too much, just that the situation is not so clear cut as it seems at first.
