Today's my first day using SMOS after hearing much about it. So far it's been great! I'm mining on miningpoolhub using DSTM 0.5.7.
I've got a couple of questions that I hope I can get some answers/clarifications.
1. Using DSTM mining on equihash on miningpoolhub, I'm not able to see my worker stats. It is showing 0 although I do see that im mining and I'm getting paid. am I missing some configuration?
2. Is there email notification available when one of the rig is down?

1. This is really an issue with miningpoolhub. I would recommend you monitor that thread for updates
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=472510 Having said that, MPH is notorious for not having up to date statistics. Their equihash worker statistics have been totally broken for about a week and register nothing.
2. MPH can do this but see #1 but it's really only effective if you're mining one coin otherwise you get a lot of false positives. I think Tytanick said he would work on a telegram capability but there was no announcement on delivery dates.
