First rig, I'd like to go simple and start with throwing 2-3 RX 570 on a motherboard without building/buying a dedicated frame.

This mb seems really easy to use. But won't the cards get too close to each other and affecting airflow?
Yes this will be a bit of a downfall but if you keep fans 90% or at max speed then airflow would not be a problem anymore. I have an old Gigabyte motherboard where I have put 3 x 1060 directly in PCIEX16, X8 and X4 slots which are near each other and I have solved the problem with airflow by setting the fan speed higher and temp limit 70 degree celsius in afterburner. I think same settings can be applied to any cards for such motherboards.
