Not a fan of the Z Wave setup, though. Do you happen to know if the WiFi version works properly with an Android app?

I previously had TP-Link HS110, which is WiFi only, that might fit your needs. I wasn't a fan of the Z-Wave "mania" either. But I am more than happy with HomeAssistant, it's fully customizeable to my needs. I have a couple of smoke and various other sensors that all integrate into HomeAssistant.Not a fan of the Z Wave setup, though.
