On my computer the wallet seemed not responding. I tried a few times then I started again. Deleted the whole pandacoin directory except wallet.dat, downloaded newest software plus the tar.gz. Used 7zip to extract gz and then the .tar in it and loaded everything of that archive (not the .tar file but that what was in it) into the directory where I had my wallet.dat and let wallet run. It took a few hours to sync the remaining blocks, occasionally appearing non responding, but eventually all my coins from 2014 appeared and it started staking instantly (guess 2014 coins are mature enough eh?).

Btw friend of mine used the 2GB exe from the official site, that also contains a snapshot of the blockchain. He also saw the software appearing frozen but eventually it went through.
