Agreed! In other way does not any sence build Shields and Defense Grid if any orbital cannon(OC) or mass driver(MD) could bypass them and destroy module. That is why: I have 1000 shields, 1000 def.grid and 1000 colonists (1 biodome); 1 shot to biodome from OC or MD and you are, having full level defence, 'naked'!
OC and MD should be reballanced and meet shield/def first, especialy MD! Asteroid bypassed shields and defense grid?!
