Question: Can I download the new version of the developers wallet when it is released, and leave the old version on my computer? That way, I will not lose
anything if the new version somehow does not connect with the amount of Solaris coins I have?
Someone said to download the dat file "as is". Does that mean I should not name it when I download it? I do not know what is meant by "as is"? Thanks.
Is there a way to put the "dat file" (the one that has all the vital info in it) into the new version of the wallet that is downloaded?
Thank you to everyone who helps,
G.P.
You should not download, but backup your actual wallet.dat file and keep it in safe place. If something will go wrong during update or your wallet will be corrupted you'll be able to restore wallet from backup.
I am moving very carefully because I do not want to lose my solaris coins, but I still am not getting the help I need to make sure that I do not lose my coins. I have the old wallet that I downloaded around December 11th, 2017.
Can I make a copy of my dat file and transfer it to another computer where I can download a new developers wallet and try that dat file with the new updated wallet that I download?
Or, should I just download the new developers wallet onto my main computer where I have the old developers wallet and trust that everything will come together automatically?
Also, can I send my Solaris coins out of my old developers wallet if the wallet has not fully synced?
I sure wish someone would help me.
Thanks, G.P.
