With the recent explosion in altcoins, the altcoin boards have become the most frustrating forums to read as they are loaded with nonsense speculation and buying "advice" that is more than likely fuelled by self interest.

If there were to be one thing I'd love to see added to the rules, it would be a policy of disclosure. That is, a moral obligation to state whether a coin that is referenced by a poster in a post is held by that person.

Of course it couldn't actually be policed, but people have a moral obligation to disclose their ramping and the forum has a moral obligation to help readers to discern between what is independent/thoughtful posting and what is self-serving blather.
If anything, shills should be red tagged. This would be similar to how the forum 'deals' with scammers (and to a lesser extent, spammers). People should be able to tell between legitimate advice and obvious shilling... and if you want some form of policing then it is very much possible to either tag the accounts yourself or send details to DT members to view and tag.

The latter would take some time and I'm not sure which ones would really be willing to sink in that amount of effort just to tag shills in the altcoin section: most DT members remain in the Bitcoin part of BCT.
