I believe you asked a very good question here, and in the right time. Years ago on same question I would answer like many other did in this thread, bitcoin will stay leader in crypto for many more years. Now I ask myself the same question, 2017 woke up many giants, sleepy giants. What will happen this year is hard to say, and for next year almost impossible. How many alts now have price over 1000 dollars, how much is the cost to send bitcoins and how much it cost to send some other alt? Do you know how fast are the transactions? This things bother each of us who use bitcoins everyday. The fact is that new technologies and new coins are coming, can some of them be better then bitcoin, it can if bitcoin don't solve some burning problems, and that has to be done fast.
