As a resident of The Cheddar Curtain, your specs don't match reality here, or North.

AT&T doesn't run "12 pairs of fiber coming to my house"...

Also, "a single phase 320kva transformer (in-ground wiring)" makes no sense, in a Electric Utility context for a Single Family Home.

THEN, there's "we even have hills to put up a wind turbine - although we are only a couple miles from the interstate where planes follow"...

WHAT do hills have to do with wind turbines and last I checked, as a pilot, we navigate using charts and coordinates, NOT by following "the interstate"?

Here's a thought. Put Solar Panels on your "140 acres of land", let your mining gear warm up the "non insulated shed" this Winter and MINE ON.
I may have the kva wording wrong on the transformer, but it is a 320 (the utility was just out to replace my meters). The house was built by a commercial contractor and we have half a dozen panels in the house with generator/ups, etc.  This single family home is also my digital signage business plus we had planned for a big barn so when we built, we had them put up what was needed for two 200A panels.  As for fiber, I too was totally shocked when ATT dug in the 12 pairs for free (in about a month no less) with only a 3 year contract!  And the Ciena and router gear also is overkill for a 50Mb circuit.  I figured it would be a single fiber.  I did tell them that since there was 140 acres here, there was a "slim" chance of a housing development but not likely.

Yes, wind turbine likely is not going to happen, but I suspect there are zoning issues (with potential faa guidelines) that I have not checked into.  I just know you need wind and my thought is having a turbine on top of a hill may allow for more versus the valley that our house is in which is 250 feet lower.  Sorry for mentioning that since I am clueless on it.  As for my miners, they are making my normally heated garage nice and toasty this winter with air intake from the frigid outdoors - so I'm good.
