The market seems to be reacting positively to the upcoming promotional activities on Byteball. Was news about the upcoming promotion published elsewhere before today? That could explain the huge run up in price over the last couple of days.
If it was not, then it could be a classic case of traders with inside information lapping up cheap bytes.

The funny thing is the market reaction to price below and above $1000:
$800 - too expensive, won't buy.
$1150 - solid coin, easy buy.
