i think they're doomed to remain forever a curio unless there's an easier way of handling and buying and selling them. future users will not be crypto purists. they're looking for ease and utility.
If you order your pizza through Byteball's chat, you can pay for it with just a click. Now imagine this being implemented on a nice website, a GUI to order your pizza, and when you're done it opens the link in your wallet.
It doesn't get much easier than that, all you need is the wallet.
