The Great Cryptocurrency Crash and Why Enjin Coin Would Survive It

In the event of a crash, Enjin Coin would live on — and perhaps emerge stronger than ever.

Calm down. Relax. Take it easy.

No need to panic.

I’m not saying there will be a cryptocurrency crash of epicly disastrous proportions. A catastrophic burst of a Schrödinger-like crypto bubble.

I’m not claiming that the worst nightmare of every crypto-investor will happen — just that if it does, Enjin Coin would be left standing.

Perhaps stronger than ever.

The Shroud of Gray

I vividly remember a conversation I had with my father — two decades ago.

We were in a crappy, ancient car.

“So… What do you actually sell at your new job, dad?” I asked, restless on the back-seat.

“I sell fog.” he laconically replied.

“Fog?” the 8-year old me followed up.

“Mist. Bottled fog, of sorts. It doesn’t exist, not really. But it has value.” he went on, mysteriously.

A month later, he bought a brand-new ride. To me, the car looked like a freaking spaceship.

A few weeks later, I kinda-sorta realised what the heck his new gig was about. I did not get the fog analogy he used, but the Internet — yeah, I knew everything about it — we got our first modem when I was five.

It was 1998, and he was running an ISP company — selling internet time.

Modems are one thing that I’ll never, ever miss.

As I grew up, I came to understand — and appreciate what my dad meant by “selling fog.” It’s imaginary. It’s fairy dust.

It’s not “real” in a way sand, gold or airplanes are.

It’s fugazi.
