I have not been able to get kano.is to actually let me log into the account it told me I created and gave me worker info on a popup congratulations message. It returns a login failed and sends me to home screen. I've been mining by wallet number in the interim.

Your username is case sensitive.
If you set it up correctly it will say
Your account is registered and ready to mine.
It also shows the username there with _worker1 added on the end when you succeed.
If you can't remember your password, use the password reset.
You have to have a proper email for that to work.
