Staking rewards depend on the number of coins you have and your weight versus the network weight. Also, you may get a "Generated, but not accepted, Mined" greyed out message which means that someone else was able to solve the block before you were able to which would give them the staking reward. All you have to do is encrypt your wallet, set a passphrase, unlock and leave your wallet open to the network and eventually you will get some coins.
