Keep in mind segwit tx's cost only $1-2 as the legacy tx's cost $15-20. Don't get ripped off by the nay sayers.

Is there any disadvantage for using segwit address ?
I've been using bitcoin address for 3 years and I still too lazy to adapt something new but if it's too important and being rush, should I change my current btc address into segwit , now ?

The difference is as I explained.

Yes you should do it if you want to pay less fees. The difference is real. It is more than x10 less fees if you use a segwit address. Like i told above, create a segwit address which starts with "3..." do not use the default bech32 address from electrum which starts with "bc1..."

Exchanges can't recognize the bc1... addresses yet as they haven't adopted but the addresses start with 3... look just like multisig addresses and can be used like a regular address but with less fees. (because it is still segwit)

From legacy to segwit, you'll need to pay like $10 for one time and then your upcoming tx's will require like $1 fees. Also stop using services who don't adopt to segwit.
