E-mail is a traditional method of communicating on the internet. The earliest version of e-mail was created in 1971, and it has practically not changed since then. Although modern e-mail systems handle their core task of communication between people perfectly well, its standards fail to take into account the security of the correspondence and the personal data of its participants.

All popular providers deliver mail to their servers via an encrypted channel but store everything on servers in an open format that can be accessed by administrators, security services (who are not always honest), algorithms that scan messages to display advertising, and hackers. The situation is the same with cloud data storage. Users upload personal photos and sensitive documents to cloud storage without proper consideration of the consequences.

Traditional encryption algorithms like PGP have some disadvantages: first, they require installing additional software, second, the open keys may be compromised during exchange, and third, the package-oriented structure of PGP makes data streaming somewhat complicated. From our point of view, the ideal electronic correspondence system must be decentralized, self-manageable and reliable. Modern encryption algorithms are secure, and today’s devices are sufficiently advanced to use on-the-fly encryption.

Deploying blockchain technology into our solutions will allow us to enable secure user identification and create a distributed, autonomous and self-regulating system that will enable you to access your email anytime and anywhere.

There are currently 3.7 billion e-mail addresses registered in the world. The email services market grows by 17% every year, and by 2021 will reach 43 billion dollars (more than twice higher than the current value) according to study by Radicati Group Inc. Now is the ideal time to create an e-mail service that meets the growing demands of the modern world. The largest players on this market do not care about further developing the standard and haven’t introduced any revolutionary innovations to the existing standard, because they are making huge profits off your letters.

We have done lots of work and developed a real and working product in which many of the problems mentioned above are resolved (also available in the AppStore).

OUR SOLUTION

The next generation e-mail system that we are creating meets the following requirements:

• It is compatible with existing mail protocols (solved);
• It does not have a single center for data storage and management (to do);
• Public keys and identification data of users are stored in blockchain and therefore cannot be masqueraded or compromised (to do). Recipient identification is guaranteed, and public keys can’t be replaced by a third party (solved);
• All data that is sent and stored is reliably encrypted, with no exception. That includes metadata, headers, and attached files (solved);
• There is no message size limit (solved);
• No additional software required, everything works in any browser, including those on mobile devices. Installing the application on your mobile device will improve the user experience, but is not necessary (solved);
• The cryptographic architecture is optimized for data streaming and may be adapted to other types of applications, such as group calls, video-conferences, etc. (solved);
• Public API providing access to user keys allows creating third-party applications based on the new architecture and integrating existing systems into the new platform (solved);
• Our solution is several times less expensive than existing commercial applications (starting at $1 per month), including a long period of free use for new customers;
• Spam protection implemented at the system architecture level (to do);
• Open source software, the code can be checked and modified by the community (our git);
• The system offers essential performance equal to existing email platforms while providing dozens of revolutionary features;

TOKEN ECONOMICS

The token is called Mail Coin (MCN), it was issued according to the ERC20 standard and is a utility token required for our service. The number of tokens issued will be determined after the initial study of demand. The starting value of 1 MCN token will be 1 USD. An up to 25% discount of the starting value will be provided at the pre-sale stage.

The minimum subscription price for our service will be $1 per month. Paying for service will become compulsory after 6 months of use. Half of this amount ($.50) will be retained by the service owners and will be used to cover the costs of maintaining the service. The other half ($.50) will be automatically converted into tokens (MCN) at the current stock exchange rate, the token holder will get the cash, and the tokens themselves (or their fractions) will go back to service owners and will be immediately and irrevocably destroyed by the applicable smart contract.

This way, as the number of active users goes up, the number of MCN tokens in circulation goes down, that will inevitably ensure constant growth of the token exchange rate, and this process will be infinite. This means that the growth of the MCN token exchange rate will directly depend on the appeal of our service. Therefore we will direct at least 50% of all proceeds from the token sale to marketing and advertising our service.
