I would suggest checking out an exchange like Yobit.net (but be careful if you actually use them). You'll see TONS of altcoins on the market, with all of their prices. They're priced in bitcoin, btw, not fiat. I'd also suggest being very careful, because a lot of what's on the market is total garbage and not worth buying. Most of the altcoins are referred to as "shitcoins" and for good reason. The shitcoins that go for 0.00000001
BTC or thereabouts will never be used for anything, and no one wants them. Plus you'll have a hard time selling them, because the markets are so thin.
Most people here would advise you to stick with bitcoin, and that's what I'd say too. It might seem expensive, but you don't have to deal in whole bitcoins. You can buy tiny fractions that suit your budget.
