There are very few jobs that require a masters degree nowadays. But if you want a job in the NASA or the USGS, then a masters would be very handy (a Ph.D would be even better). Times have changed, with a lot of jobs being created in the IT and the ITES sectors.  This means that jobs that require a college degree are on the decline. Most of the employers now prefer recruits who are good in automation and the handling of big data. A good knowledge of coding or programming can make your life much easier.
