Most of the trades make bitcoin as base price as many platforms or merchants perhaps only accept bitcoin. There is no exact time frame as to when a certain coin would be able to surpass the market capitalization of bitcoin and in terms of price, it may take a long time. Let's admit there are better fee and technology that are already made compared to bitcoin but still bitcoin remains at the top because many people still believe in it.
