So, if I've understood correctly I need to post 30 times or post once in a 2-week period over 3 separate 2-week periods to be able to send one pm to one person. Lmao.

Whats so funny? I like that adjustment. So you can't easily create an account and spam the members..

Thank you at the thread-maker Wink. I like that system and now I know how it works.

It makes a hell of a lot of sense, I was getting WAY too many newbie accounts messaging me with their super gangsta ICO which will make me millions.

It made me miss the emails I used to get from the Nigerian Prince who wanted me to inherit his money
LMAO with the super gangsta ICO and the Nigerian Prince. Though seriously, there are still a lot of newbies who just want to learn and earn. But those spammers really just taint the newbies name huh? I am not against the merit system, i just hate the fact that as a newbie i may be generalized as a spammer and won't get any merits in the future.

As far as I'm concerned, you're on the right track. (No, I'm not a merit source). It seems to me that there are a lot of 'newbie' accounts that were made just to sell something, or gain enough rank to sell the account to a broker. Which I don't get, anyway, but that's me. I've been here, between lurking and actual registration till now, what, 7 years? A long time. I was gone for a while, due to life being as it can be, but still, I spent a LOT of hours on this forum, built up my account the old fashioned way on fora, actually posting and interacting. Rank never mattered to me. In my absence, I have become "Legendary", which I still don't know what it means Cheesy But I kind of like being a legend, even if only on a forum. Nevertheless, having something to say, rather than a few (thousand) hit and run posts is likely to get you more notice, and hopefully merit.
