Well, the forum is modernising itself with time. As I remember the first change was an opportunity to set an avatar for low ranks for some little payment, then Copper member ranks, then , so it is like jr. member is the same like a newbie, and now this "merit". On Meta board there always a lot of suggestions about inproving of the forum's work and as I see some of them were accepted.
