Ouch I usually do 1-2 btc with it if I have extra money on paypal or say a payroll card from work or anything you would need to use it for like moneybookers sometimes and.  I just deposited $100 and got .91 btc so not to bad I think maybe you did it at the wrong time you just need to wait for good conversion rates.
