How many are you buying anyway? If youre to build 6 or 8 card rig, buy the card that you can get identical cards so less headache tweaking them.
Id go with the cheapest one that has a decent stock core clock i.e. if X card has higher core than Y card but is $20 more go with it. 570 hashes 28-29.9 while 580 cards do 30 easy and could reach 31 if lucky.
Exactly this. This was one of my mistakes to buy cards from different manufacturers. If you purchase the same 6,8, or 10 cards at the same time it is very likely that youll receive cards from the same production batch. Customizing the timing will be much easier - naturally there will be slight variations but the entire process should be much smoother.
Same here, when I first started mining I bought a miscelleneous collection of cards, as and when I could get them, so ended up with a mongrel collection on my rigs, this made it a PITA setting up each card - if only I knew then what I know now
