I decided that the previous allocation was too unfair in this area, so everyone with activity >= 775 got 500 more merit if they didn't already have 1000 merit (and also Lutpin). No extra sMerit, though.

I'm almost in the same situation as you, except I have a few more months until I am eligible for Legendary. Here's the major difference: I'm not worried about my merit. I could give one fuck less about fake clams so that I can rank up; that's not where my focus lies. My focus lies on trying to curate and create and contribute to great discussions about bitcoin, crypto and its technology here, and I know that in doing so, my merits count will go up naturally and organically.
It's been days and days of nothing but bitching about the merit system. I know I can't be the only one who actually doesn't care one way or the other about it? I give my fake points to posts that I feel are constructive and contributing, and the same happens for me. Not a big deal, but it truly perplexes me how something as simple as these internet points are the focus of dozens and dozens of conversation, and hundreds of whiny members. Yeah, it's controversial, but I feel that honestly, if your intentions as a user were for the best interest of the forums, you wouldn't care so much about how this merit system slows down your progress... progress of what, exactly?
